U15 Boys 2025 -2026 Awards
MVP
King Merchant
(Nominees: King, Ben, Wes, Koen)
King had a tremendous season with the Clippers. He was our ‘Swiss army knife’ - whatever we needed, he could help with.
He fuelled our defense with his intensity and communication. He finished countless possessions with steals, blocked shots and rebounds, then started fast breaks with great outlet passes. Offensively, King was our connector, a menace on the glass, and threat from beyond the arc. He was our vocal leader, one of our hardest workers and most dedicated players.
Congrats, King! Back-to-back MVP!
MIP
Wes Mulenga, Koen Hill, Ben Carlone
(Nominees: Wes, Koen, Ben, Mason, King)
This year’s Most improved award goes to a trio of players who showed tremendous growth in many ways. Physically, mentally, offensively and defensively, the improvements were obvious and exciting.
Wes outgrew a knee issue that slowed him last year and had a great season and became the top scorer around. His newfound explosiveness allowed him to attack defenses however he needed to, from anywhere on the court. Just as importantly, his defense took a huge jump in all areas. His physicality, rebounding and active hands helped generate countless transition baskets for the team.
Koen turned himself into one of our hardest workers and it showed this season on the court. His explosive first step and improved 3 point shooting have made him a very tough player to stop. He improved his handle and court vision, and was one of our top playmakers. His defense also took steps in the right direction with improved quickness and physicality.
Ben showed growth in all areas throughout the season. Offensively his playmaking, shooting and decision making consistently improved. He was integral in breaking pressure defense with the pass or dribble, often leading to easy baskets. Defensively, his improved physicality, quickness and length led to production in the form of rebounds, steals and some big blocked shots.
Congrats Wes, Koen and Ben!
COACHES CHOICE
Sawyer Campbell
(Nominees: Sawyer, Cooney, Jack)
Sawyer finally became a Clipper last year, and it was immediately clear why we were all so happy he chose to play with us. He fit in right away on and off the court and quickly adapted to how we play. He was consistently providing energy and effort whether he was on the court or on the bench. His versatility and basketball IQ allowed us to use him in a variety of roles. He was a trusted inbounder in key situations and tough rebounder in others. His unselfishness was evident in his screen-setting and willingness to make the next pass. Any coach would be lucky to have a player like him.
Congrats, Sawyer!
